Lynne Franks-Meinart has joined PFP as Head Coach and Tommy Leonardi as Stroke and Technical Coach this year.
As Head Coach, Lynne will oversee all team operations, planning and leading practices, developing race strategy, and motivating team performance and culture.
Lynne has coached dragon boat for breast cancer survivors, women’s, mixed, and club crews throughout North America, coached novice OC6 crews in San Francisco, conducted paddling and steering clinics across the U.S. and Canada, and proudly represented Team USA in seven world championship cycles.
As Stroke and Technical Coach, Tommy Leonardi will guide PFP team members in learning a stronger and more effective paddling technique that has helped individuals and teams improve their success in national and international competitions.
Tommy has competed in 14 world championships and leads the local and national dragon boat community as President of Schuylkill Paddlers and as President of the United States Dragon Boat Federation.

PFP’s Golden Warriors have qualified to participate in the 15th International Dragon Boat World Crew Championships, to be held in Liyu Lake, Hualien, Chinese Taipei, August 29 – September 6, 2026.

PFP’s ATW, Golden Warriors and Fire Crew team members over age 70 joined forces to compete for the first time in a new age group category at nationals, taking home a bronze medal.

Members of Against the Wind and Hope Afloat merged with River Sisters, a Camden, NJ team; and Spirit Abreast, a Canadian BCS team; to compete as River Winds in the 30th anniversary of breast cancer survivor dragon boat teams at the 2025 Canadian Crew Competition in Vancouver, BC.
