River and Boat Safety

BOAT LIGHT RULES OF THE RIVER

Red (port) and green (starboard) bow lights and a white stern light must be displayed on all PFP/ATW boats used between sunset and sunrise and during any other period of limited visibility. Lights should be bright enough to be visible from at least 100 yards away. 

Basic rules:

  • Lights are required on manually propelled boats 40' and over (i.e., DBs & OC6)
  • Lights are required between sunset and sunrise 
  • Front is combination red (port)/green (starboard) light
  • Stern is white light
