Expenses:
Membership is $300 per year. New members pay a one-time-only $75.00 initiation/training
fee. Dues cover the cost of boat maintenance, insurance, storage, equipment
and other club expenses. Our membership year is from February 1 to January
31. Once you become a member, you will have access to our “members
only” link through this website. There you can access the “Coach’s
Corner” (including instructional video and photos from practices,
and workout tips and guidelines), weekly practice schedules and sign-up
sheets, member committees, and member contact information.
Equipment:
• A Dragonboat Paddle ($30-40)
• A Team Life Jacket (approximately $55-60)
• Team Shirt (approximately $35)
Clothing should be quick drying pants or shorts and top. You can wear anything
comfortable. For footwear, wear any shoe you don’t mind getting wet.
It is a water sport – you will get wet. Caution: flip-flops can be
dangerous on slippery surfaces.
Butt pad (nice to have since the seats are not cushioned). You can use an
inexpensive gardeners’ kneepad, with non-slip cover, such as cabinet
liner.
Please note: lifejackets and paddles are available
on loan until you have purchased your own.
